Blackstone buys Altice Dominicana towers

Private equity firm Blackstone emerged as the successful buyer of Altice’s telecom towers in the Dominican Republic in a deal TMT Finance exclusively reported on. Through its unit Phoenix Tower International agreed to buy 100% of the share capital of Altice’s Teletorres del Caribe with 1,049 sites at an enterprise value of US$170m.

As part of the deal, Altice Dominicana will enter into a 20-year master agreement with Teletorres del Caribe, and Teletorres del Caribe has committed to support Altice Dominicana in the continued deployment of its network. The transaction is expected to close in Q3.

TMT Finance exclusively reported that BNP Paribas and Goldman Sachs acted as financial advisers to Altice Europe, while Franklin and OMG acted as legal advisers. Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP and OGC Abogados acted as legal counsel for Phoenix Tower International. Scotiabank acted as sole financial adviser to Phoenix Tower International.
