Dr Fahad Mushayt, Head of Strategic Investment Unit, Saudi Telecom

Dr. Fahad Hussain Mushayt is the Head of Strategic Investments Unit at Saudi Telecom Company.

He joined STC in October 2000 as Senior Business Analyst in Corporate Planning, moving up two months later as Capital Allocation Project Manager and working concurrently as Balanced Scorecard Project Manager and Concept Controlling Manager. Continuing his career in STC Corporate Planning, Dr. Fahad was appointed Strategic Planning Director and Business Development Director in December 2001 before being promoted to his present position in July 2004.

As the Head of Strategic Investments Unit at STC, Dr. Fahad's duties include promoting growth and enhancing the competitive position of STC through the performance of SIU and its employees; representing SIU to the local and international business community; maintaining and expanding relationships with the telecom industry, regulators and governments in KSA, the GCC countries and internationally; and regular interfacing and network building with the financial community.

Dr. Fahad earned Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research from King Saud University, Riyadh, in 1991. He earned Master of Science Degree in Economics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, in 1995. He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy in Political Economy and Public Policy from the University of Southern California L.A. in 1999. He has also completed variety of management programs from INSEAD, London Business School, and Stanford.

Dr. Fahad served as a Vice President of the Telecom Development Advisory Group (TDAG) of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). He is a board member of many Companies, including; Maxis (Malaysia), NTS (Indonesia), STIC (Saudi Arabia).
