I am currently engaged in a number of Non-Exec roles in 4 continents helping businesses within the TMT space to drive growth and profitability both at early stage and at exit level.
Prior to this I was CEO of TelecityGroup, leading the business over 12 years including a number of significant achievements in the company’s expansion, from the take private and merger in 2005 through the successful IPO in October 2007, and subsequent acquisitions and expansions into new strategic markets in the development of the business as a major hub for today’s digital economy.
Having joined Redbus in 2002 as Sales and Marketing Director, I was appointed CEO in 2003 when the market cap was around £6m and subsequently grew the business into TeleCity and a market cap of over £1.5Bn
TelecityGroup is Europe’s leading provider of premium carrier-neutral colocation data centres, having expanded to twelve sites across Europe. We have achieved expansion through the acquisition of Data Electronics in Ireland, Tenue & Academica in Finland, Sadece in Turkey, 3DC in Bulgaria and PLIX in Poland, among others.
Personal achievements include:
PWC Technology CEO of the Year in 2007,
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009, 2010 and 2011,
London Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
In 2014, I was awarded an OBE for Services to the Digital Economy.
I am an active member of a number of charities. In 2014 I initiated the inaugural CEO Sleepout raising funds for Action for Children. I hold the position of Chairman for the Friends of Loomba Trust and Patron of the British Asian Trust. I sit on several fundraising boards including Make-a-Wish, and the Princes Trust. In 2013 I was appointed Business Charity Champion at the Business Charity Awards.
